Patch Notes - 1.2
Patch Notes – Version 1.2
Gravity Changes
All gravity calculations now run on the GPU, making the game perform significantly better on most systems.
The calculation method has been upgraded to RK3 (Runge-Kutta 3rd order) for improved accuracy.
Mobile devices will still use CPU-based calculations, as most of you are likely using older phones(I will try to find a way to make it change if the phone has a good IGPU).
Performance
Tests conducted on an Intel Arc A580 and i5-12400F.
CPU-based physics:
Max 100 bodies before crashing
CPU Web-based physics:
Max 53 bodies before crashing
CPU Editor physics:
Max 78 bodies before crashing
GPU-based physics:
Max 238 bodies before crashing
GPU Web-based physics:
Max 138 bodies before crashing
GPU Editor physics:
Max 189 bodies before crashing
Menus
The entire interface has been overhauled—except for the settings menu, which remains unchanged.
Rapid Placing
Enabling this option in the planet placing menu allows you to place multiple bodies at once.
Final Note
Honestly, most of the work in this update has been on the backend, and I’d rather not give you a five-page essay detailing every change.
Just hop in and check it out for yourself!
